Shira Charles-3499.jpg

Shira began crafting custom pieces when conventional art simply couldn’t capture the visions she had in mind for clients. Over time, her work evolved into two signature styles: strikingly modern wall sculptures crafted from recycled acrylics and subtle-yet-bold textured canvas pieces hiding whispered messages.

Shira Charles is an artist whose creations are as layered and textured as her journey. A self-taught creative with a passion for problem-solving, Shira’s path to art was unconventional yet deeply personal. She began crafting art six years ago, driven by a desire to meet specific client needs in her career as a designer. Frustrated by the search for pieces that truly aligned with her vision, she decided to create them herself. This hands-on approach has since evolved into two signature styles: modern abstract sculptures made from recycled acrylic scraps, and organic, plaster-like textured canvases that hide subtle, whispered messages. Shira’s work reflects her belief that art should be both visually striking and meaningful—a conversation starter with a conscience.

Born in Israel and raised across three continents, Shira’s life is a mosaic of cultures and experiences that influence her art and worldview. Now based in New Jersey, she is a proud mom to a teenage daughter and a spirited four-year-old toy poodle. Beyond the studio, Shira is a writer of music, an aspiring author, a software startup founder,  and currently a consultant for real estate value-add investors. As the oldest of three sisters, her love for storytelling shines through in her favorite books, Mandy by Julie Andrews and Oh, the Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss. Using ADHD as a superpower, Shira’s journey is one of resilience, resourcefulness, and creative reinvention. Her favorite musician, Vin Bogart, and her unwavering belief in the transformative power of design inspire both her art and her life. Whether transforming waste into beauty or crafting hidden narratives within her work, Shira’s creations are a testament to the power of seeing potential where others may not.
